Very friendly service and a lovely cosy café. It's my favourite place to go. The homemade food and cakes are amazing. Love Nelly May's and highly recommend a visit
We were looking for a place that was baby and dog friendly. We asked on the off chance if it was ok to take the dog in. Of course was the answer. The food was all home made including the sourdough bread which was delicious. The cakes were so inviting we bought some for takeaway. The welcome was warm and we would not hesitate to recommend this tea room to anyone.

Great place for breakfast. This was our first place when we arrived. Great menu and the food was really good. Friendly staff and child friendly too. I would highly recommend a visit.
one of the waitresses made a rude comment about me being on my phone when she approached the table (I was actually updating the important potentially life saving ICE information on my grandma's phone while we had stopped for a break) and then we were served flour heavy scones for the cream tea which was a let down as this is my first visit to one of the cream tea motherlands and my first experience of a Devonshire cream tea so disappointing. However the chips my husband had with his ham and eggs were very good hence the slight save on the stars.

A funny little café on Ilfracombe high street. Go to Ilfracombe. It is a great place but stick to the harbour. We ended up in this funny little tea shop because we were starving and had 30 minutes to wait for a bus. They do tea and scones and toasties (grilled sandwiches) and standard sort of lunch fare. They also do milkshakes. Word of warning for non UK tourists: English milkshakes are basically flavoured milk so you might be disappointed with that option. I had the "luxury" version which ended up being flavoured milk with whipped cream on top. Food was fine. Place was clean. Service friendly and prompt. Great for a quick bite but a bit expensive for what it was. At the end of the day, if you find yourself in Ilfracombe head down to the harbour to one of the many eateries there. More fun and a better view!
Very good value for the money friendly local servicce with an old world charm

Came here on holiday and went to this fish and chip shop 3 times. Every time the food was great and the chips were out of this world!
Cooked fresh. Very good.

Beautiful fish and chips and massive portions. Only complaint is that we had to sit and listen to the staff talking very loudly about whoever "she said ,he said"...some of it not very nice. Food was being put on tables without a word to the customers before turning around and continuing to talk to colleagues about whoever again. Kind of ruined the eating experience for us. Takeaway next time!
Excellent customer service . Fish and chip are always at a high standard.

Great Little take-away sandwich shop operated by a really genuine laid back, and cool dude. Inexpensive but really nice simple food.
Excellent service friendly staff and always happy to help even if your order is not a listed sandwich/roll me and my work colleagues regularly go there for our lunch and are never let down

Best Chinese takeaway food I've tried. We went for the set meal two. It was enough for three.
This is without doubt the best in town great service, Always very friendly. Don't mind making the dish without nut if you personally don't like them as I dont. The food is always 5*. Been eating here for the last 20 years & I wouldn't go anywhere else xx

Excellent. Never had anything bad. One pound top up dinner available. Desert is a biscuit or cake. Cheesy herb bread very good. Kids dinners available with gift available at the moment. Recommended.
With the exception of one of the male members of staff, a pleasurable experience.

Fish and chips are good. Traditional sit-down restaurant with a takeaway window. Somewhat in the shadow of the more popular chippy next door which boasts of being a Trip Advisor award winner.
lovely fish and chips and dog friendly. they practicality dragged us in when we stop to check she could come in. provided her with water and doggy biscuits. anywhere she is made that welcome is good with us
