Local Tourist Information Centres and Shops

Ilfracombe Tourist Information Centre

Landmark Theatre, Promenade, Ilfracombe EX34 9BZ, UK – 01271 863001

great part of the south west coastal path here. lovely little town of local businesses. there is a chip shop on the quay that sells gluten free fish & chips!! a major find in a sea side town for gluten free people!

First time my wife and I had visited , very impressed bigger then imagined , flowers everywhere love the band stand , quirky shops and quaint harbour.

Chambercombe Manor

Chambercombe Ln, Ilfracombe EX34 9RJ, UK – 01271 862624

Very interesting Manor house full of history. A guided tour with an entertaining lady guide who regaled us with ghostly stories and haunted house information. Of dead body discovered in a sealed room. Well worth a visit.

Excellent guide - very knowledgeable and interesting stories to tell. Beautiful extensive gardens with some pretty walks. Disappointed with the cafe ...when we went we were told "tea and cakes are all that's left " but the people on the next table had sandwiches! I asked for my chocolate cake to be served warm but it wasn't. Think the staff just wanted to close early. Shame, but otherwise it was a good visit and we would go back.

Genesis Surf Shop

17 St James Pl, Ilfracombe EX34 9BJ, UK – 01271 865251

Pretty cool shop, not cheap, but then again surf brands usually aren't cheap so prices as expected.

Really helpful staff, got some great recommendations

Boat Moorings & Marinas

Ilfracombe Yacht Club

The Quay, Ilfracombe EX34 9EQ, UK – 01271 863969

Non members welcome when I visited. Friendly staff, this place has good views of the harbour it also has a real ale or 2. The bar is up stairs but I think there is a stair lift for disabled people.

Atmospheric bar, good beer and wines, spectacular views from sun deck.

Boat Trips & Excursions - if available

Ilfracombe Coastal Cruises

Kiosk, 3 The Quay, Ilfracombe EX34 9EQ, UK – 01271 879727

We had a nice trip around the coast to see the cliffs and wildlife from the sea. There was very good access to the boat for any passenger and we had a comfortable seat to view the scenery. My only criticism would be that a little more detailed commentary would be nice, such as how the amazing rock formations were made and a little more information on the sea life. All in all though we enjoyed the cruise.

Fab sea views

Bluefin Charter Fishing Trips

Kiosk 1, Ilfracombe, The Quay, Ilfracombe EX34 9EQ, UK – 07968 419897

Had a great time out with John .....4 hour trip and we all caught some massive fish !!!!

Local Parks & Gardens

Bicclescombe Park

Bicclescombe Park, Ilfracombe EX34 8DN, UK

A nice area to walk round with tennis courts and childrens play area. Well tended gardens.

Disappointingly dogs had to be on lead at all times which restricted it's use somewhat... The tiered side was pretty but disabled access was very limited. Also the moss on the paths by the ponds made it very very slippery and rather hazardous for both walkers and wheelchair users. A bit disappointed actually.

John Fowler Holiday Parks

Marlborough Rd, Ilfracombe EX34 8PF, UK – 0844 686 5643

Good budget holiday but difficult to sleep with the lively night life, audible through the thin walls. Kids weren't too badly disturbed thankfully

Great for kids, you can use the pool even if you are not a guest.

Hele Valley Holiday Park

Hele Bay, Ilfracombe EX34 9RD, UK – 01271 862460

Quiet campsite with clean amenities. Our only problem was with the toilet and shower block. The facilities look delightful but are poorly designed. One quick shower floods a considerable area outside the shower cubicle. A longer stay in the shower floods several other changing areas. Only rigorous mopping by each user makes the shower block usable. Luckily we were not at a peak time. Pity as most other aspects were very good indeed. This is the first time I have seen a fully equipped dog showering area on a campsite complete with ramp for dog to reach owners waist level.

Lovely site set in beautiful peaceful surroundings. The lodge is gorgeous would definitely recommend.

Great website!. Click below to find gardens open during the year around Ilfracombe or Devon. There are photos and lots of detail about the garden.
