The Quay, Ilfracombe EX34 9EQ, UK – 01271 864533
Very small and doesn't take long to look round but they don't rush you round, staff are very approachable and knowledgeable and one came to tell my toddler they were feeding some fish so he could watch. They loved it. Staff also helpful with buggy storage and retrieval so we didn't have to squeeze it round.
This aquarium is small, and seems a little quirky from the outset, but once you go through the doors it's really quite remarkable. There is a large amount packed into this small space, but it doesn't feel cramped; I feels well thought out. There are lots of fish and other marine life to see, and the friendly and knowledgeable staff are on hand to engage children and answer questions. For such a small place we left feeling we really got more than our money"s worth.
Lifeboat House, 14 Broad St, Ilfracombe EX34 9EE, UK – 01271 863771
Took a look around here when the doors were open for visitors. Good for a look around at the quality kit they have, gives great reassurance as everything was very well maintained and ready for action.
Very interesting lifeboat house, some expensive specialist traction units.
