Very attentive (but not overbearing). About the best Shearing hotel we've stayed in, would recommend.

We booked at short notice as another venue had let us down and it turned out to be a fantastic place to stay, right on the harbourside with loads of parking within a short distance. The staff very helpful and polite. The room was modern and clean as was the bathroom with power shower and ive never seen so much coffee, tea, sugar and milk by the kettle with 3 cups and saucers, usually in other hotels you get 2 cups and saucers and enough tea or coffee for 1 or 2 cups so well done. Sometimes it is the little things that make the difference. We will be booking to come back again very soon 😁😁
Not the cleanest hotel. Our room was exceptionally small, about 8ft wide, they put in an extra single bed, which made it wall to wall bed. Shower not clean. New staff behind bar who knew very little about the workings of the bar, not his fault as he should have been shown. Food in bar very basic, steak pie been microwaved to death, crust too hard to bite, burger was just that, burger in a bun no garnish or trimmings. Condiments were dirty and containers not clean. No TV remote and TV stupidly high. Went downstairs to ask for remote, owner said it had been stolen, seemed like it was too much trouble to break him away from his game of pool. So wife had to stand on bottom of bed to change channels. Breakfast supposedly 08.00 until 09.30 when we enquired, didn't start setting tables until 08.15, breakfast arrived at 08.50 when we needed to be away by 08.45 although the breakfast was very good. Greatly overpriced for condition of hotel, not our greatest stay in a hotel.

Lovely calming Hotel just outside the hustle and bustle of Ilfracombe, set in its own gardens with some amazing tasting food on offer evenings and weekends off season, as one of the owners i highly recommend it.

At 8pm on a Tuesday evening the bar was quite empty which was a bit off putting as it is in the edge of a holiday park and within easy access of a few more parks. However the staff are pleasant and the tables clean. The menu was not outstanding in it's selection of dishes but there was a reasonable choice. The prices are on a par with similar establishments in the area . We both chose the salmon fishcakes which come with salad and the fish cakes were lovely. The salad was all fresh and crispy if a bit unimaginative. I would certainly visit again .
The pub itself is very nice. Good play area for the kids. Generally the staff are friendly if a little slow on noticing you are waiting for service at the bar. The good is good quality and generous portions. Be warned however, park in the wrong place and a song and dance of epic proportions begins! The pub andthe holiday park are not owned by the same people and if you park inadvertently on the holiday park land you will know about it! Perhaps some better signage or a bigger car park would help because at peak times there is no space otherwise. Ruined a nice family meal to be honest.

Very good food and service. There isn't a huge choice but there is a good variety so there is something for everyone including a kids menu. There are tables outside and inside on 2 levels so don't be deceived by the apparent small size of the pub. Good choice of ales ad well.
Just had a wonderful Sunday roast dinner. Best I have had for some time.friendly helpful staff would recommend. Selection of Wine and beer and soft drinks good too.

Absolutely love this place. I was working in Ilfracombe all summer and kept coning back for the great coffee, delicious food and friendly service. Recommended.
John and Polly at Rocky Cove Bed and Breakfast are so friendly, making everyone there feel welcome (and well fed!). Thoroughly recommended for anyone looking for accomodation in Ilfracombe

Perfect quiet getaway
If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

Quiet campsite with clean amenities. Our only problem was with the toilet and shower block. The facilities look delightful but are poorly designed. One quick shower floods a considerable area outside the shower cubicle. A longer stay in the shower floods several other changing areas. Only rigorous mopping by each user makes the shower block usable. Luckily we were not at a peak time. Pity as most other aspects were very good indeed. This is the first time I have seen a fully equipped dog showering area on a campsite complete with ramp for dog to reach owners waist level.
Lovely site set in beautiful peaceful surroundings. The lodge is gorgeous would definitely recommend.
Mill Lane, Berrynarbor, Ilfracombe EX34 9SH, UK – 01271 882647
We have just returned from a 5 night stay at Mill Park Ltd. It is a great base to explore North Devon. The staff were helpful and courteous and the site is really well maintained, despite the fact they had had awful weather prior to our stay. The site facilities are clean and well kept. We stayed in the Top Field and the showers weren't the best in the world, but more than adequate and very clean. We enjoyed the onsite bar in the evening which is great for families. We will definitely return.
It's a shame I can't give a higher rating than 5! Mill Park is a great place to stay. The toilets and showers are spotless the Pub on site is welcoming and I particularly enjoyed being able to take a few pints of carry out back to the tent ( to avoid trapped dad syndrome!). We took a trailer tent and found that the pitch was a generous size with enough space to park you car next to it. You may wish to call them when booking with the details of your tent / van as oksome of the pitches have a bit of a rake on them which can be challenging when pitching up. It was nice to see that the site was patrolled politely and professionally to remind you and other people to respect the 10pm noise curfew. ( It's easy to forget the time on holiday) The weather has been terrible and has effected the state of the pitches. This has been managed well by the staff who are only too happy to help providing advice and wood/ cardboard when required. Despite all the mud the facilities are still fantastically clean which is again a credit to the staff. In similar conditions on a different site we may have decided to go home a lot earlier but as Mill Park is so well managed and maintained we stayed 12 days out of our allotted 14. Thanks to all the staff !

The view from our pitch was stunning, what ever the weather. Really liked the 'alcove' layout of the whole site. The entrance by car is tricky as not sign posted before the turn off and a blind turn out onto the road. Pedestrian access is also tricky as there isn't a footpath all the way along the road (which cars travel very fast along) and the path from the site was treacherous on the one occasion we used it. A quiet site which is nice but 9pm a little early! As with other sites that charge per pitch for 2 people, not sure why I have to pay full pitch price + dog price per night although just me and the dog. I paid more than my 2 people companions.
Me and my husband stayed here for 5 nights. On arrival we were impressed with the lovely view from the site and the facilities were nice and clean, not mind blowing but considering they were free they were all you could ask for really. We didn't really feel like we had a very warm welcome, there was just a note left outside the reception hut telling us to camp where we liked and to call back at another time. The whole time throughout our stay we only ever saw anyone in the reception about 3 times between leaving notes on a chalkboard outside. If we had a problem we would've had the inconvenience of walking up to the farm and bothering the owner. Also hearing complaints about their guests wasn't very pleasant, if you're going to run a campsite at least show your face and show interest in your guests. On our last day, we stayed until 12:30, you're meant to check out at 11 but once again there was no one around to wish us fair well so we thought why not? 😂. Although a nice walk down to the local cosy pub (which does amazing food and give you a great welcome) we won't be visiting again.

Fantastic views, friendly site. Great facilities for kids.
Nice site to stay on. Shower block was ok not the best ive used. Large cubicals witch was handy for our family of 4 to use. Tent pitches could do with been abit more level. Amazing for walks around the area. Extreme wind when we stoped witch forced alot of people to take porches off there tents including myself.
